Is this true Independence ??
Wishing all the reader a very Happy Independence Day. But is it truly a HAPPY day??? Is this what our freedom fighters wanted or as a matter of fact, is this what we yearn for?? Mobs on street in J&K, farmers out in Greater Noida, Serial Bomb blasts in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bangluru, Jaipur and the list goes on. Killings just keep on increasing, be it by a bullet or by a road accident. Women still doesn’t have the freedom to roam around safely in her own country. Or for a matter of fact, it’s not even safe for men to roam around at night. Auto Rickshaw drivers looting & killing their passengers for just Rs 10 or a poor guy just having his tea is looted by a group of men on motorbikes. Is this where we are headed??
But one thing is with us – our Mother Nature. We have surely experienced a much cooler summer, a much heavier monsoon and a much colder winter. It might be a global climatic shift, but it’s surely diminishing the number of deaths by the heat wave. Hill stations are getting warmer, and slowly & gradually, we are moving towards a moderate climate. Earlier people used to come out on roads near India Gate to feel the first shower in the capital, but now this rain is an every day phenomena. Green cover is escalating. People are becoming conscious of the advantages of planting trees & slowly and gradually we have shown some advancement in this field. Pollution levels are down; though traffic situation still remains the same. Infrastructure still takes a back seat, but retail prices are moving like a Ferrari. This political fight to remain in power pushes our politicians to work for the people, for they were chosen by the people. Laalu Yadav has shown his money making skills & turned around the face of Indian Railways. And not to forget, our great PM – Dr. Manmohan Singh, who has shown us THE VISION 2020 again!! But we’ll need more like him to actually accelerate this 8% growth.
Now let’s move to the technological aspect. Delhi Metro has surpassed the metro of New York in terms of foot-hold per day. The average profit is Rs. 1 crore & above this the technology used is mind blowing. If you ever come to Delhi, don’t miss this thing out. And mind you, this will cost you almost nothing. Metros are coming up in Hyderabad, Mumbai & this virus will spread around the country in no time. Big low floor busses in Delhi are surely changing the face of public transportation, with a few Red AC busses plying on road to comfort you in summers. The life style of people is changing yet they are not pushing back our culture. They no longer want to settle for the second-best. Shopping Malls are popping up every other month. Imported automobiles are finding a huge market in India. BPO sector has always grown in India. IT sector might have taken a blow because of the recession, but I know, Indians have the brain to rise from this slowdown. I’ll not go into the numerology of our economical growth, but it’s surely rising in every aspect.
We are now aiming for the best in every field. It’s not only Cricket or Hockey now a days, it’s more than that. Recent win of Abhinav has proved that India is surely breaking it’s chains, it’s slowly and gradually oiling it machinery, it’s wings are opening & as the FUTURE GROUP says – The Golden Bird is coming back.
But let’s take out a few seconds from our busy schedule to pay respect to those innocent people who have lost their lives in accidents, bomb blasts, protests and other terrorist activities. I know India is facing a tough time dealing with so many assorted issues at present, be it inflation or J&K, but keep in mind, we are balancing it with a few good things. Every country faces difficulties, and India is no exception. Jai Hind !!!

In the article the author has touch various issue from political to safety issue,but did anyone ever thought the reason behind such issues. although we are celebrating 60 independence day…but still we are counted among the developing country. At the same time [our] neighbour country China is now a superpower. We are still searching our way from web of poverty,problems like pollution,corruption…..IN short instead of counting the small milestone like metro in Delhi etc. we should not count laurels..but try to contribute in every aspect no matter how small it is….
And what about the sparrows that have reduced?
@Neeraj
China has a diferent economy, the democracy in China is very different. People there are forced to obey what the Govt decides. Remember the time when China said 1 child per couple. If this would come in INDIA, then be prepared for an ALL INDIA BANDH !!!
And as ar the problems of poverty etc is concerned, I know they still exists. But people by themselves have to come forward to eradicate these problems. General public has to stop craving for things to happen, they themselves will have to do it now.
And we should be pround of these small milestones, that have made a mark on the world map.
@Apurva Gaglani
If we clearly see the scenario, these small small sparrows are joining together to form a big golden bird. They might reduce in numbers, but their impact is increasing now.
